Open Call for Dance and Circus Works, Workshops, and Audience Engagement Content
Sysäys ry is looking for contemporary dance and circus performances, workshops, and audience engagement concepts to be part of the Kutsu liikkeeseen (invitation to movement) audience engagement project for 2026–2028. The first performances will already take place in summer 2026.
The aim of the project is to strengthen the accessibility of dance and circus in Orivesi and to bring art into the everyday life of local communities.
We are looking for easy to tour performances, workshops, or other audience engagement concepts. We hope that each performance will include at least a small audience engagement moment, such as an introduction to the equipment, a participatory movement session, a discussion, or for example a short video sent in advance.

Implementation
The exact number of performances, schedules, and venues will be agreed upon together after the selection process. The estimated number of performances per content is 2–10.
From the project budget perspective, a realistic format is a performance of ~30 minutes maximum, with no more than three performers.
Content providers must be able to invoice. Productions are generally expected to bring their own equipment and personnel. If necessary, the project coordinator can assist with simple technical needs (e.g., sound system).

Sysäys Festival outdoor programme
The content does not need to be suitable for all target groups. You may also propose another specific target group.
selection process
Selections will be made by the project coordinator together with the board of Sysäys ry.
The following criteria will be considered in the selection process:
Budget
The artistic whole the selected contents form together
Artistic quality
Alignment with the association’s values (sustainability, community, nerve, accessibility)
Suitability for the target group
You may also apply with a work-in-progress idea or concept. In this case, please include a previous work sample.
The content can be multidisciplinary but we wish that dance or circus plays a significant role.
